I enjoy the majesty of Handel's Messiah, if not all its theology. My taste in holiday music is less Bing Crosby and Burl Ives in recent years and more Bob Rivers.

Thanks, Deece, for a poem of our times.

I wish all a very Happy Holiday and a hopeful new year.

Your emended Night Before Christmas well addresses our current existence on this orb. Regarding Christmas songs, I present one in keeping with the spirit of the season (Clarence Carter: Back Door Santa):

I hesitate to confess it, but when I start hearing "pa rum pum pum pum" in October, I start looking for the exits. Now, however, your gift of a Moment of Zen does deliver its intention, and for that I am thankful.

My trip to Alpine this week reminded me of why I do not like the Christmas rush. You saw my most Christmas self this morning and that entails visiting with people that I am glad to call friend. I had no idea you are a poet as well! Thanks for sharing your day with us.

I had forgotten about "Rebel Jesus," which spoke to me when it was released. Further, I was not apprised of your poetic skills, though your prosaic talents are many and manifest. I think your "Night Before......" version is more relevant than that other Moore guy's. Also, if you are going to make up a name, why use such a mundane surname? Keep writing and thinking. The number of people expressing interest will keep growing.
