I'm still kind of astounded the House impeached him in the first place. I mean he's a crook, obvs, but that's usually not a hindrance to a thriving political career in Texas politics. The Senate is really moving here... comparatively speaking.
Also, does that that put us ahead or behind North Dakota? The ND lege waited until the guy had given himself a sweetheart plea on a (prima facae) vehicular homicide/DUI/leaving the scene, and THEN they impeached him. On the other hand, ND only took like 18 months (I think) instead of six years.
Thanks for keeping us informed. I look forward to reading your distillation of what was passed.
Thank you for giving us the information in first hand!!!

You are the best. I will mark my calendar for the 5th.
I fell asleep waiting for the Senate to establish the Impeachment rules. 😅
The very best Narrator of the Texas political scene, based on years serving on the inside.
Eckhardt opposed?
I’m getting the feeling Paxton gets Impeached?
The fact they barred his wife from voting on the Impeachment, seems like a pretty strong signal that this is serious.
