I've often wondered if the record 6.5 temblor in Valentine in August of 1931 was the reason that poor little town looks so damned run down to this day. I reported on the 1995 quake that shook up Alpine. I remember getting there and going in the stores and all the shelves had their products rattled onto the floor. Happened on the little red-haired girl's birthday, so I got her an earthquake tee shirt, since once again her hubby had to be away.......Also, the late great Ste. Genevieve winery put out a bottle of commemorative red in a matter of days and I brought one home with me. The Earthquake Red is still unopened. One suspects it might be a tad vinegary by now, eh?

A tad vinegary, like the Lamestream Media's cover-up of the true facts behind these "earthquakes" that plague the Trans-Pecos: GRABOIDS! By your own admission, you've participated in the cover-up since at least 1995. The people deserve THE TRUTH!

Thanks for commenting Jim Bob!

Check the record, counselor, there were neither Graboids nor fracking back in 95. I stand innocent of journalistic dereliction, well, in this case, anyway.

While I have the greatest respect for your journalistic integrity and many successes, I feel compelled to point out that the first documentary evidence of graboids was captured on celluloid in the 1990 film, “Tremors” -- five years before the Alpine “quake.”

Actually (can you type that if not on Twitter) , Fracking has been used in drilling for quite some time, including my unfortunate 1% share of a fracking modification of a well in Sterling County in about 1984. Hey, the first one they did actually made a profit for the investors. Really. Friendship #1. Mine was #2. A fool (and many other fools) and their $5k are quickly separated.

So to my point, fracking in tandem with horizontal drilling is the more modern drilling technology. But thanks for the memory of how much I miss those $2 royalty checks.

Oh, funny!! Bacon, Ward and McEntire, bad career move or Graboid lunch?? Who knew?! And in the spirit of the movie killed and dismembered her. Two confessions. Hilarious! And perhaps a future bio entry for Bumble. Enjoyed it, Deece.
