We used to dream great dreams in our land. We thought we could make life better for everyone, and actively worked to do that. When did we become so petty?
We Americans are tired of your ratiocination. I believe it's time for the country to lead the world in MASA, or, Make America Stupid Again. Or, Make America Small Again. Make America Shitty Again is not appropriate as it is vulgar, however, MAVA, or Make America Vulgar Again seems to fit. The point is, it's done, we've achieved our goal of everyone but the K-Crats, gets ... you know the word: noun for screwed. We've our own Gestapo/Secret Police working to get rid of folks who'll bust their asses to build a better America. Us? We quit doing that a while back. We hired out our "ganas," and at a super low price. We'll just keep quiet as the ship moves forward toward the iceberg. But, at this point, I'll be damned if I'll throw a life preserver to a fool wearing a MAGA hat.
I will say I do appreciate that singular moment of zen. I only wished its effect lasted longer.
Unfortunately every time I read your column I am so glad I do not live in the state of Texas because of the vermin infested state capital. I was such a huge fan of Texas and am always shocked, shocked I tell you, that so many exceptional people still live there.

Thanks for sharing! Great photo, too!
A great closing line, I must say.
Hear, hear.
