Kan Paxton's bad luck continues as the Senate readies for his impeachment trial and the Court of Criminal Appeals finally rules on his effort to delay his securities fraud trial.
As you and I discussed in our "Tex-a-Tete," (https://jamesmoore.substack.com/p/tex-a-tete), it's always a live question whether Dan Patrick will permit the Senate to do anything. If the Senate rules next week discourage a real trial, we'll have a clue as to his real intent. He is publicly (and semi-privately) telling his Senators he wants them to do their jobs.
Tim, thanks for reading and commenting. If I have any insights, it's because I had perspicacious colleagues like you when I worked in and around the Lege!
I'm still not to the point where I can believe that Dan Patrick won't put his thumb on the scales of justice.

Your my go to, for the ever evolving insanity that is Texas politics! Thanks for your insights!
Thanks, CD! I appreciate your readership and support.
It's not often one sees the word "perspicacious" used in any commentary related to the Texas Legislature ... Well done, as always.
