How silly is it that the NFL, Kansas City Chiefs, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are all in on a plot to rig the Super Bowl and endorse Joe Biden? Maybe it’s not that farfetched. Here's the real story.
I'm not a betting man. Aside from one Saturday at Ruidoso when I broke even, I am lousy about predicting. Who can guess what will be setting off the MAGA cult next week? If I had been suckered into bets, I would have lost bigly on Taylor Swift, Bud Light, speaking respectfully to or about people different from myself, award-winning fiction, Disneyland, or all the other snowflake-melting "controversies."
One can only hope that Ms. Swift can encourage her 6 million followers to vote Democrat in the '24 election. Holy moly I can hear djt now, how corrupt, it was a plot, a conspiracy, the election was rigged, etc.. I can't wait.
1) It is most important for her to encourage young people to register and vote, which she has a demonstrated, and outsized, capacity to do.
2) Whatever happens, we can be sure that Donald Trump will claim the election was "rigged" even if he wins! (Remember his absurd 2016 claim that he got 3 million more votes than he did?) We should be prepared for the societal upheaval he will cause.
I'm with you. Follow my college teams, but not much into NFL (no Austin-based team!) until the playoff rounds. So now I'm all in. And definitely watching the Super Bowl! (With the Chiefs, who were in Super Bowl I when I lived in KC as a kid.) Bring on the beer and snacks!
