I hope her legacy won’t be destroyed by that misogynist idiot who occupies the presidency.

Thank you, Deece, for the lovely homage to Cecile. It's a heart breaker that she had to leave us so soon.

I was devastated to find out about her death on Monday. Maybe even moreso than the inauguration of Trump again. It seemed a fitting way to go, peaceing out before dealing with the bullshit again. This was a lovely tribute. We are still decades away from someone like her running Texas, I'm afraid.

The Lord giveth, and the Lord has taken away. So many lives were made better for her having been here. May her legacy be everlasting.

I love that she died at the EXACT right time to take column inches away from Trump. A fighter to the VERY END!

She was an incredible force of nature and it was an abosolute privilege to be with all the dynamic changemakers present at her memorial. Can you imagine what effect that had on all those young girls there with us at the Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders? Her legacy will live on indefinitely along with Ann's. By the way, I think it's no coincidence that Cecile's soul decided to leave this world just hours beFORE the Dictator was sworn in.

Cecile continued and enlarged upon her mother's legacy, and so it was appropriate that the celebration was held at the Ann Richards School and attended by so many of its students. They got to see, in the large and festive crowd, the impact both women had on a whole generation of Texans.

Good to hear from someone who knew her. Of course back many years ago, I considered her the devil. Now i see what she was trying to do and hoping to prevent. Beautiful piece.
