We might call this a "dangerous winter storm" in Texas, but where I grew up in the Midwest it would have been referred to as "Thursday with a light dusting of snow and freezing temperatures."
It would not have merited the hysteria that this storm has occasioned so far. I suspect that's because thousands of Texans have PTSD from last year's storm.

I agree. I'm not even certain how a cold day gets marketed as a "storm."
